Valiyaparamba is one of the best backwater stretches in Kerala. Valiyaparamba is about 30 km from Kasargod, to the north of Kerala. This Island is separated from the main land, and the only way to reach the main land is by Transport Boat Service, National Highway passes through Cheruvathur about 5 kms from Valiyaparamba, nearest railway station is in Cheruvathur, on the Kozhikode-Mangalore route. Nearest airports are in Mangalore in Karnataka State, about 50 km; Karipur international airport Kozhikode, about 150 km from Valiyaparamba.
